Ahead of the launch of the Lifetime Skills Guarantee by the Government in April 2021, this thought leadership campaign looked at its potential - and its drawbacks. Specifically, the research considered whether the initiative could plug skills gaps and improve employment opportunities through training programmes, coupled with recommendations for employers on how to provide lasting professional development strategies. In collaboration with think tank The Work Foundation, this campaign was research and data-heavy. I identified a need to have a shorter form report to sit alongside a longer whitepaper which was more academic in tone.
The long-form report was relevant for a wide audience, from businesses interested in policy, to policy makers themselves. The shortened version I wrote was aimed at C-Suite level professionals and HR Directors who were interested in upskilling and training programmes. The short form report outlines why the Government's Lifetime Skills Guarantee was such a pivotal moment for employers and jobseekers, and dove into key insights that highlighted the barriers to skills development and training. I also pinpointed key actions for employers at a local level, in tandem with improvements at policy level. This report generated X leads over the course of a year.
